Your opinions are interesting
Domain TLDs like .name are, in my opinion, gimmicky. The .com domain is meant to be professional; maybe that's why everyone uses it?
USA - Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 18:42:39
WEBMASTER'S NOTE: More specifically, it's meant to be commercial, so if your site is noncommercial a different
domain ending makes more sense.

Have you ever considered regarding adding a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is fundamental and everything. Nevertheless think about if you included some great pictures or video clips to give your posts more, _pop_! Your content is superb but with images and clips, this website could certainly be among the most beneficial in its field.

Although I do believe this content is impressive, I just need to know if you genuinely wrote it.
I found a nearly exact replicate of this on some other blog. It was somewhat different, but certainly too similar to be a coincidence. Could they be stealing from you, or you from their website, eh?

I have a favor: I'm looking for someone (preferably an expert who is certain of their facts, such as Dan Tobias himself) to confirm to me something of which I'm nearly certain, which is that the word "saidith" was never used. It's a long story, but an author I'm working with used this word in a supposedly 17th century quote that I'm pretty sure is fabricated. Knowing whether or not "saidith" (it looks absurd every time I type it) was ever a viable word will help me in my work. Thank you.

Hey Dan, when viewing your site I just thought another good item for your site may be the field of especially westafrican scams, and the real reasons why the Governments all over the world let their people run into ruin instead of putting it to an end. Apart from this: good information, and I'll be back here to keep on reading. Wim

I was actually making my report on sociology when I stumbled upon your articles. I specially like this one moreover this part "Modern agriculture has had many examples of monocultures, as particular breeds of crops are chosen for various desirable traits and propagated identically around the world, replacing a profusion of diverse local crops. The rise of big corporate farms and multinational seed manufacturers hastened the progress towards this situation. The number of distinct kinds of crops that are widely grown is steadily decreasing as scientists create carefully-crafted varieties designed for maximum popularity, and farmers choose identically to use them" ....Keep it up sir...

I see you are in Mensa. I tried to join Mensa but they said I wasn't smart enough (which is a lie).
The real reason they wouldn't have me is because I'm a Jew from New York and they are very anti Semitic. I thought I would like your site until I saw you showing off about your Mensa membership.

I truly agree with you in terms of how paypa actually screw your money. I have been using their services for two years, and always had some issues. Once they froze my account, as I didn't have updated my PAN card number ( income tax number) in my account.Second thing, while withdrawing the money, their exchange rate is always 1 dollar lower then the real exchange rate. and they charge u 50 indian rupees when you want to withdraw the amount. Their customer service also sucks, one of my refund issue is pending for 8 months, and i havent received any good response from them. Finally last month I had to close my account. I Also Dont Like PayPal.

WEBMASTER'S RESPONSE: My comments weren't aimed at people like you, really; the problem is that
there are spambots that post meaningless short comments to try to get links to their spam sites into my site.
As a result, I can never know if any particular "Great Site!" comment is honest or just spam.
The pictures of Ground Zero in NYC were really interesting.

WEBMASTER'S RESPONSE: If it's a legitimate business site, it would be a properly conformant domain name, though
I would advise against using a name with so many dashes in it. The domain you hyperlinked, however, is not available
for your registration unless you can convince ICANN to add a .dickhead TLD. Would the charter of such a domain call
for it to contain sites created by dickheads, or merely sites about dickheads?

I liked your website, especially the ground zero section with your pics of what you were able to capture. In my opinion, it concerns me that the US goverment has been quite since the 2001 after affects on the city as well as a clear explanation of what REALLY happened. I wasn't overly convinced that it was our planes that made the buildings topple in a ridiculous time frame. It still appears like a covert operation by our own government. Just my thoughts though... :)

I don't disagree with our efforts in foreign policy and back the use of force when done properly, as we did for the Gulf War. While politicians do make difficult decisions, they come when advised by top military generals and brass. These serve to further the interests of our country and enhance our relations within the world community

Hey Dan, you should add some words about e-bay too because as a branch of paypal or vice versa, they are the worst. I sold a product on e-bay someone won the bet but the think is that the guy sent money to a wrong e-mail address almost similar to mine so paypal got the money for this guy account not mine and now E-bay has decided that I was the one who did something wrong and closed my account asking me to pay the amount E-bay pay to this guy. Hey! this is not my account, I didn't get the money that is why I didn't send the product but someone else enjoy this money sure!!!!Now what can I do nobody even answer to my e-mail????

I,too, could not resist visiting Mt.Carmel. I did so last year (2006)and found it extremely difficult to locate the property. Gee, how did the BATF,FBI,and the the military from Fort Hood get there so EASILY?! One can only guess....Actually, it terrifies me to think about it.
While viewing the area I could only think of those little innocent children burned to death by our government. I was overcome by emotion.

I am taking a college course, Web Page Authoring. I am an infant when it comes to web page building.

Thus I was drawn to your site and can see I will be referring to it frequently in the weeks to come, as I wade through this textbook. Thank you for your tips. I plan to pass your site onto my fellow classmates.

I have been with ebay and paypal for just over 60 days now and because of 2 complaints (1 that was solved right away) the other we are haggling over a partial refund with a partial refund scammer......all my funds (about $400.00) have been siezed by paypal and they told me they don't want me to be thier customer any more. They said "if there are funds left over after 180 days, I will be reimbursed". That's 6 months! I don't really know what I did to deserve this! I hope you don't mind but I put your "sorry, no paypal" icon in my current listing. I have 135 positive feedbacks and 1 negative by some crazy lady. Please tell me what I did to deserve this and what I can expect in the near future.

I came across your page when I did a search for INTJ online. I
couldn't help but chuckle quite a few times while reading some of
your views as you remind me of a friend + 20 years. I can
understand your frustration with modern feminism, as the means
does not justify the ends. And there are inherent differences
between men and women; just as there are between those of the
same gender. There should be a standard applied regardless of
gender or race; which is true equality, in my opinion. I
understand that due to these radical policies to create the
appearance of diversity and equality the standard has been
changed (often lowered) for women. I don't agree with this at
all, as it undermines all the accomplishments made by women on
merit alone. I'm 21 and I've met a lot of women who feel the same
way. I think a lot of those pushing for these changes are out of
touch with what is actually going on with women of my generation.
So don't give up on all of us :).

I watched a disturbing documentary about David Koresh and Waco. I am deeply disturbed by what I heard, learned, and witnessed on this documentary. Before seeing it, I had no clear understanding about the incident. However, I am now ashamed to live in a country that would allow the murder of innocent children. The ATF used excessive force and I am appalled by this horrible incident caused and created by our Government. I am truly, deeply saddened by what happened in Waco. There was no reason for it, our Government murdered these people, and then covered it up. A poor cover up indeed. 1) menu on left - bad for useless navigation
2) ads by google... ugly fonts and color.
All of this IMHO.

I found your site through a Google search for documentation on correct 'mediaeval' language usage (since someone was producing abominations like "he art" when trying to write in 'Biblical' language) and I wanted a site to which I could direct them). Posting by Simon John Duncalfe (District posting)
Recently, the art of Film making etc, has been primarily dictated by advances in computer technology. No longer do people show amazement at CG in Films, but have come to expect it. Not only that, but people now expect perfectly realistic CG since movies such as Lord of the Rings. I think this kind of quality is very hard for movies to reach, even the highest budget ones! So where can the industry go from here? What's next.

It never ceases to amaze me just how much idle time people in America have and yet the consensus is that we are so "BUSY" that we don't have time for things like our kids, our spouses, our parents, staying healthy, getting to know God. Mabye "amaze" me is the wrong term. Disappoints would be a better description. You'd think cybersitter is devil worship by reading this and other sites. Fact is, cybersitter wouldn't make a dime if peddlers of filth weren't trying to get into my home via the web.

I don't disagree with our efforts in foreign policy and back the use of force when done properly, as we did for the Gulf War. While politicians do make difficult decisions, they come when advised by top military generals and brass. These serve to further the interests of our country and enhance our relations within the world community

Nigerian Scammers...If you see mugu mugu on a message board you can expect to
receive that crappy Nigerian scam letter. It lets the other lowlifes know that
they have collected all of the email addresses posted....The Nigerian Scam is
ruining Nigeria's reputation as a place to do business. If you receive that
crappy scam letter hit the delete button. They have no money they won't your
banking information so they can clean out your account. What I do when I get one
of those crappy scam letters? I list my web page with all the free search
engines using their email address as the return address and with in minutes they
are receiving 100+ per day spam messages for ever...."here is a few places to list
for free" I was getting five scam letters a day for three years ! Then every
time I got a scam letter, I would list my web site using their email account.
This is the only way I found to get rid of those no good for nothing scammers.
They won't take no for an answer try this.... After one day I stopped getting that
worthless crappy Nigerian scam letter...

Your site is sickeningly ignorant, cruel, intolerant and most prejudiced: but above all it is incredibly ignorant.
The issues that Mr. David Duke fights for are just as important and will eventual become just as harmful to the Jewish community as to the Anglo-American. Allan Dershowitz's book called The Vanishing American Jew condems interracial marriage between Jew and gentile. Is he a Nazi? What's wrong when a reasonable English American meekly asks that his heritage be preserved. Mr. Duke never goes quite so far as to publicly critisize people on their marriage partners. THough if we imply Dershowitz's 7 Hasidic steps we come to something extremely 'racist.' How would you like it if someone were to name call you for your marriage partner? Your site truely is a hate site. See www.amren.com 'Summer in the City' and 'Why race matters' by Michael Levin or 'Hating Whitey'by DAvid Horowitz. I pray to whatever god you beleive in: the dollar or Yahwe that you may change your intolerant veiws on free-Speech.

Very cool site, I'm still working my way through it. The page on Archaic English was very interesting, a stimulus for further research. I belong to an American jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church which switched from Old Church Slavonic to English back in the '70s and STILL can't get it right. LOL The choice seems to be between old-fashioned Anglican Prayer Book English, and "See-Jane-Run" modern English which is common in contemporary Roman Catholic and Episcopal usage. Unfortunately, we seem to have nobody in the Church hierarchy who has a clue about how Jacobean English really works gramatically, so you get these bizarre phrases similar to "I thinketh thou stinketh." And we can't quite get ourselves to use the simplistic, non-poetic "modern" style, either. So we end up with a system that is neither-nor. It sounds like modern English, but addresses God as "Thou" (as a formal usage) and everyone else as "you" (as a familiar usage). As a student of Shakespeare and Marlowe, the King James Bible, and the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, I keep pointing out that this usage makes no sense, because it's supposed to be the other way around--and besides the Slavonic texts always address God as "ty" (informal) and not "vy" (formal), just as the KJV uses "thou" in the same way. So how far do you think someone like me, whose age starts with a 2, gets with this argument, against these old bearded guys who shiver at the thought of addressing "Thou who lovest mankind" as "You"? LOL Now I think I will print out your page on Archaic English and mail it to the Metropolitan's staff, and see if it can penetrate those thick miters. LOL
Well, I've been going on a bit about something I'm sure most readers of this guestbook don't care a thing about, but my point is-----what was my point again? oh yeah-----keep up the good work, because we all need intelligent commentary on a variety of subjects, in this 15-minute/MTV/Mission-Accomplished bizarro world.
PS--the joke in the previous entry, is that in spite of appearances, the URL hotbox.ru is NOT a porno site (just don't type in "hotbox.com" by mistake. ROTFL) It's really just a Russian portal site with email and Web hosting, etc, but the name is funny, and I was just doing a riff on the warning above. It's a perfectly useless site if you don't read Russian, so this does not count as spam--as I say, it's my bizarro idea of a joke. ---Joey K.

Hi Dan ... As yet I am still rather (extremely) ignorant in my understanding of TLDs ... heavens, I was unaware of the acronym until last night.
Thus far, I have only perused, let alone digested and processed the info re same at your highly informative site. Before I continue upon my little expedition, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your obviously well-thought views.
It is very trying these days to extract not only relevant info (unless one is purpose specific), let alone unbiased (albeit that one may become biased in the process) opinions via a general web search. More especially so if one has no idea of the what is relevant, and what is not. E.g. I ended-up at ICANN as being the purveyor of all knowledge, along the way encountering many who were touting their own particular brand of self-vested info. All the while wondering if ICANN was just another US self-appointed authority much like the CDC.
It is with this mind-set, that I look forward to reading what you have to say on the subject ... hopefully along the way I will glean further insights, and begin to develop opinions of my own.
When I feel I am sufficiently edified, I shall return and leave comments of a more worthwhile nature. In the meantime ... many thanks to you.

I love video games, and I am totally against restriction on freedom of expression worldwide. That includes restriction on video games and motion pictures. Restriction on media is supporting by a hate-filled minority. They include overprotective or overly concerned parents and guardians, politicians, attorneys, and religious sects. I am against censorial and totalitarian religious sects (notably Jehovah's Witnesses) and other censorial organizations. I am against church-sanctioned and government-sanctioned rating systems. I condemn the Greek Parliament for that 3037/2002 law, which bans video games. Banning video games and Internet access are evil, totalitarian, undemocratic, and unconstitutional. The international censorship empire, which is a virulently hateful minority, will suffer the wrath of the NCAC's media democracy movement. I am joining the NCAC myself. Even my traitorous parents, brothers, and maternal aunts and uncles sided with the censorship empire. They are bad people, and I am a good man. I show no mercy toward the censorship empire, which includes censorial religious sects and the Liebermanites. I hate Jack Chick, Joe Lieberman, Al Menconi, and Jack Thompson for undermining video game freedom. I shall protect the freedom of the video game community against that censorship empire.

I just wanted to thank you for your Archaic English page.
I was actually in the process of writing a similar treatise when I stumbled upon yours. I'll be pointing *plenty* of people your way from now on. Most of the time I see these words, they're misused, and I find it inordinantly vexing -It's just not that hard to get it right! And most of the time I see these words, they're used to convey a sense of antiquity, ceremony, and formality. I always have to snicker at that, since, you know, the 'th-' forms were used as the familiar* second person singular when they were used to connote any such information at all...
Ah well. =)

Dan, great site, especially the section about email program configuration!
Your name rings a bell, and it's certainly not because of some Dan Tobias in the sporting world (which I ignore). Where might I know your name from? Have you written books for O'Reilly or columns for computer magazines? I doubt I've met you.
You mention that Florida was forced by the federal government to switch from colorful highway markers to black-and-white ones, as in the rest of the country, like it's a bad thing. I happen to think that consistency in road signage and traffic controls is a very good thing! Would you know what to do if you came upon a traffic light that had the red and yellow lights on simultaneously? We have those here in Massachusetts. It's considered a "Walk" light; cars should stop so pedestrians can cross. Colored route markers may not be all that bad, but when I wonder if I've strayed off the highway I wanted, it's easier to look for the common black-and-white markers than to keep an eye out for signs of any color or shape.
Pary on, Dan dude! :)

Screw David Duke! He defames the memory of the dead and hates anyone who isn't white!
Diversity is our strength and the vibrance of our diverse races cultures is what has always made America strong. He should relize whites have done little to make America what it is - whites like him that refuse to accept wonderful diversity ought to beaten and killed like the racist scum that they are!
No to racism! Yes to equality for all!

Keep up the good work; people like David Duke who dare to criticize poor innocent Jews should be jailed.
Anyone who goes to his website for information should be equated to German Nazi's and gassed like they did my grand-parents.
We should do all we can to encourage Americans to send their children off to fight the rabid Muslim scum that threatens to annihilate Yisrael - it will make America safer in the long run.

Ok, so I registered a domain with a .com instead of a more appropriate .org. But it's not my fault, really! Tucows messed it up, when I specifically asked for the .org variant, they gave me .com. But I was willing to accept it just to get my website going. Wow, I feel better having confessed this!

My name is Edmund Marco and it's a pleasure to sign your guest book. I work for an advertising agency in London. Our agency represents direct marketing companies that are involved in the marketing of products as seen on TV in England. Most of the infomercial products come from the U.S. but then again we export our talents as well. My brother has appeared in infomercials in the U.S. advertising various products. I think it's hilarious that English people respond so well to American products while Americans tend to respond well to sales people who have an English accent!

I've been quite a fan of this site, especially the web tips, for a while and I guess it's time I dropped a note of my presence.
Among my pet hates in web design are:
- onunload popup ads
- multiple popup ads appearing at once
- popup ads that keep reappearing when you go to another page or back to the same page
- popup ads
- use of no right-click scripts to emphasise the designer's having nothing worth hiding
- people who think WWW stands for USA-Wide Web
- layouts that are too wide
Keep up the good work....

Its true paypal isnt that great of a company or service. I've had several bad experiences with paypal and their so called "customer service." I personally dont like their concept at all of overcharging and nickel and diming you for service that they cant provide and dont have. Im not here to promote some other company or papal alternative but lately I've been hearing and noticing info about a new type of service provided by WWW.IKOBO.COM. Its cheap, easy, no bullshit, and their (haha) phone number is a click away, but I havent had the need to use the number since I get no hassle! I just want to help out fellow people out there that were screwd by paypal also.

This guest book was almost as fun to read as your web page.
(especially those guys wanting to give you a 600 pages book to "convert" you, or whatever they might've wanted).
PS: To those writing that this webpage "sucks" - I don't think the webmaster of this excellent web site cares a frigging bit about your comments, because for every bad comment you send him (and you're probably all just the very same Cybersitter executive with multiple e-mail addys) he gets like 50-100 "excellent page!" signs. :P

First of all, for Charles Tatum, Bossier City is ALOT safer than Shreveport, and I'd hardly call it "the ugly little sister." Both cities have changed alot, but the armed robberies and carjackings have gotten a little out of hand in S'port. Now! Dan, just stopped in to say hi. Got alot of amusement from the weirdos that commented on your "lack of taste in music." Yes, some music and artists are better than others, more talented lets say, but music is music. If it gives you enjoyment, more power to ya. Thats what its there for. As for Nirvana, Kurt's music might have been "from the heart," but too bad life didn't mean that much to him. What a waste. Keep up the good work Dan, and thanks for all you do on our website, we (me especially) really appreciate it. Happy New Year! From your friend, the one that used to go crazy over DONNIE OSMOND, Robin

My son and I were foolin' with this PC of ours (actually his brother's) and we typed in the word "antidisteblishmentarianism" and clicked on "search" to see what would happen. Well, we ended up on your page. We love your explanation of that word. We laughed a lot and wanted to see what more you had at your sight. We found this guestbook and thought this would be fun.
Joel says "So, Contraantidistestablishmentarianism is the longest word in the english language now, huh?" Joel said I should type "hey", not "huh".
He says this is good enough for now. So I guess we have to say "bye" for now.

Hello its the boy you spoke to on the phone a while
back. I gor my mother to order me Dreams Never Die, and All
the best from Cd Bonzai. Is that a good company? I really
love your web page on Tiffany. I have loved her music since ]
i wa 3. Could you send me the new copy of The Tiffany Screen
Saver? Please I have the original and its being used in Win 95.
For some reason the pics look bad. How is the new one different.
Please send me the new one and instructions on how to
delete the old one; you don't have to send me the instuctions.
I probably could figure it out. I just got the latest copy
of The Movie Market. They have a photo of Tiffany. It is
very similar to April Whals Bra Shot. They cost 4x7 color 1.75 each,
or a 8x12 for 12.00.
I have an autographed 4x7 Recent headshot of tiffany,
it reads Love, Tiffany. Want it $25.00.

Dan, I have lived in Waco for the last 35 years. I am originally from New Orleans, LA.
This day (4/19)shall forever be a day that shall live in infamy in my memory. My
remembrance of the Massacre in Waco of the Davidians is one that I pray will never
occur in any other part of our country. Janet Reno rightly took the blame for thne events
of Waco and the compound some three years ago today. She should have been thoroughly investigated
by Congress or some other entity. It is my firm belief that she shall be required to answer
to our Supreme Being for the deeds done during that time.
Your article, "Wrapping Up Waco", was very well done, and I wish it could be published by the liberal
media of today. That will never happen, but thank you for writing it
and putting it on the internet!
